I work as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Multilingualism at the Center for Language, Brain and Learning (C-LaBL) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
I received my Ph.D. degree in linguistics at the University of California San Diego in 2024.
My research is focused on tone, grammatical tone, and tone-morphology interactions, and also includes work on compounding, grammaticalization, wordhood, prosodic typology, grammatical gender, loanword adaptations and multilingualism.
I am fascinated by the complexities of linguistic systems and the diversity of the languages of the world, and I have worked on multiple languages, including Norwegian, Somali, Rere/Koalib, and Tira.
In a former life, I played guitar in the Norwegian progrock band Suburban Savages.
